QUALIFICATIONS OBJECTIVES
The Level 4 Diploma in Early Childhood Education is a teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. All learners must have access to 100 hours of teaching.
The objective of the Level 4 Diploma qualification is to give the learner the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills needed to confirm occupational competence. This includes the planning and delivering of schemes of work and sessions, negotiation of individual goals, different teaching and learning strategies, communication issues and exploring a range of assessment practices.
This course is appropriate for teachers, tutors, trainers, lecturers and instructors who may be working within primary schools.
The aim of this qualification is to enable learners:
- To understand the roles and responsibilities in relation to teaching
- To understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within the candidate’s specialist area
- To plan, deliver and evaluate teaching sessions
- To understand the use of assessment methods and record-keeping
