QUALIFICATIONS OBJECTIVES
This Level 4 Diploma offers a foundational study of Educational Psychology, focusing on the application of psychological principles within teaching, learning, and school environments. The course explores key areas of cognitive development, motivation, individual differences, and effective classroom management. It is designed to equip educational practitioners, particularly teachers, with the theoretical knowledge to better understand and support the diverse needs of learners.
The aim of this qualification is to :
Enhance Understanding of Learning: Provide a solid knowledge base in the psychological theories of how children and adolescents learn, think, and acquire knowledge.
Apply Motivational Strategies: Equip learners with skills to analyse and apply psychological theories of motivation to enhance student engagement and academic performance.
Address Diversity: Develop an understanding of individual differences, including learning styles and special educational needs (SEN), to promote inclusive teaching practices.
Promote Professional Reflection: Encourage self-reflection on existing teaching practices and facilitate progression into higher academic levels or specialised school roles.
